Cellcom Commercial \ Israeli–Palestinian Conflict

After landing at the Ben Gurion Airport in Israel 3 weeks ago I entered a taxi and the first thing the driver had to tell me was his opinion about this commercial. I believe Cellcom (Israeli phone carrier) got the attention they were looking for. Their name was dropped in the news, on the bus, at the bars, and on the streets. With the many opinions I have heard everyone seemed to take a political stand but not a consumer stand. It passes the most unclear understanding to the consumer of what is the company’s personality by distracting them with a very controversial subject. I feel as we should all be mad at this insult to our intelligence but no one seems to have taken that position. Genius advertising approach? possibly
